| Yes, it’s true. Hemant Mehta auctioned off his soul on early 2006 to the highest bidder. Jim Henderson, a minister from Seattle, won it for $504, and ultimately sent Hemant to visit churches of his choosing. What resulted was a book entitled “I Sold My Soul on Ebay” containing Hemant’s personal story of atheism and a critical review of the church services he attended. Hemant will be visiting CASH to present about his experience, answer questions, and may bring some copies of his book for sale. Dinner out with Hemant at the end of the presentation. Hemant Mehta is also the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Secular Student Alliance (SSA) , an national non-profit organization dedicated to the growth of student atheist organizations. CASH is an SSA affiliate and has won its awards in the past. Hemant will be available to speak with folks interested in SSA as well. Visit Hemant’s blog . |
